Extremely boring class (lectures but you to sleep). Frustrating because the material he would lecture on was only enough to last 20 minutes but he tried to extend it over an hour and fifteen which was so annoying and boring. And u have to go to class because there are pop quizzes. HOWEVER its a super easy A!
In hindsight, I think I should've enjoyed this class a lot more than I did. I didn't realize how salient the information is to various fields. I think what bothered me the most about this class was Per's lecture style. He wasn't boring or monotone but it was almost so laidback that it wasn't very engaging. The material could've been made more interesting with more examples, I think. With that said, the class was relatively easy as long as you put in the effort to study the material (Use the study guides). The TAs were SUPER helpful and tried to make sure they explained things as clearly as they could, so go to office hours! Overall, I recommend this class as I do think the information is more crucial to the field of psychology than any other class you may take at UVA, especially if you're a CogSci major.
The BEST class I have taken at UVA!!! Dr. Sederberg is very knowledgeable and his lectures are very fascinating. TAs: Brandon and Tyler are the most helpful, kind, and respectful TAs I ever had, they are all very willing to answer questions. The class consist of pop quizzes, short answer assignments, 3 exams and a final exam. They use scratchers for exams and pop quizzes... coolest thing ever!!! Dr. Sederberg provides study guides which pretty much gives you tons of information about questions that they will ask on the exam. If you love/fascinated with the brain and memory and how it works, take this class!!!!
