Elizabeth is just amazing. She is the best sort of philosophy professor you can ever have. She is brilliant, humourous, analytically sharp, quick-witted, caring, and ethically responsive. The course is very philosophical but also very socially engaged. Our discussions in class and the texts we read felt very relevant to our lives. She is a fair grader and usually would not provide lots of feedback/comments for papers, but you can have more comments if you drop by during her office hours. And her dogs are truly adorable.
I took this class in my third year and fell in love with feminist philosophy forever.

Professor Barnes is an amazing lecturer. Her lectures are more like discussions in which she allows us to work through the material together. The subject was also super interesting and didn't just cover feminist issues it covered racism and ableism and other intersectional issues. It was really easy to talk in that class, everyone contributed. The two essays were graded very fairly and there was also a ton of leeway and freedom on what you wanted to write about - no final! The readings and topics were also very accessible and I highly recommend this class especially if you are not familiar with philosophy.
