This economics of transition course with Devlin was extremely insightful. I'd taken the economics of the middle east course with her previously, and the class structure is pretty much the same. There's a class presentation, country project, midterm, and final, and each are 25 percent of the grade. Very straight forward class and Devlin is extremely knowledgeable, def would recommend. My one complaint is that her lecturing style can be a bit dry at times, but with the amount of information you learn, and the leniency of her grading, that's hardly a negative.

This is a weird one. It's one of those, "do nothing all semester and take two big tests and write a paper" classes. If that's your thing, you'll like this class. The issue with the course is that the lectures are rather directionless. To cite a specific example, I once spaced out while the professor was talking about transition economies, and when I snapped back into reality, she was telling us about the laws of gravity. No joke! I got an A in the course and honestly still don't know what it was about. The lectures could really use some topic questions and main ideas. The multiple grade-determining group assignments gave me a lot of stress, so I wouldn't recommend this one.
