In terms of engagement classes, this one was fine. It was a fair amount of work and I do not believe an A is guaranteed. Most of the work for the class was in weekly readings that were about 30 pages long and were then discussed in class, sometimes with a paired graded assignment. In terms of major grades we had a group project halfway through that she graded relatively harshly and a final project where you have to write a paper or create a creative work. This engagement was not too difficult but there was a fair amount of work, and it is focused primarily on interpretation of history which can be boring to some.
I LOVE DEB. She is super supportive and a great professor. Although I am not super interested in medieval history or Joan of Arc, Professor McGrady was really engaging and try to make our experience fun. We had a fun movie night, and she brought us pizza! Would highly recommend! Not sure this class can be considered an easy A, but if you put in some effort, you should have no issues!
worst engagements class i've taken all year. professor is weirdly rude and loved to talk about how hard it was to be a blonde in the 80s?? i found her grading to be extremely confusing and even when i asked for help there was no clarification or explanation that helped me understand why i received the grade i did. it's not a super difficult class, professor is just super obnoxious in all honesty. somewhat easy A, just hated listening to her talk
