This class was really interesting. While there was a fair amount of homework, it was all engaging, which made it bearable to get through. The homework mainly consisted of one discussion question based on a TV show, reading, or podcast, along with a weekly written reflection.
There is a group debate project where roles are clearly outlined, so if you prefer not to public speak, you don’t have to. There is also a creative mini magazine project for the final which was super fun. The class was graded on a specifications basis, meaning there were specific requirements for amounts of homework, components of the group debate project, and parts of the final project that you had to complete to earn an A, B, or C letter grade. This made it very easy to plan out the quarter and understand exactly what was expected to achieve the desired grade.
Class time primarily involved small group discussions followed by a whole-class share-out. Overall, it was a very interesting course, and I highly recommend it!
This class was honestly pretty enjoyable. The class was on a "labor-based" grading system, so it was difficult to not earn an A. The classwork outside of class was simple as it was just readings or watching videos and making discussion questions for class. The in-class assignments were enjoyable and nothing stressful or difficult. Overall, a fun class that was an easy A.
