(I had EGMT Fall 2023 Depictions of Difference with James Seitz). This was the easiest engagement I've taken, ask anyone. He is SO nice, nicest professor I've ever had, genuinely cared about what we had to say and our mental health, gave maybe 15 minutes of reading for homework (if that) and brought us pizza for class one day and a bunch of snacks a lot of the days. Super chill teacher, had to write one essay that was maybe 600 words for the end project (had to be about some form of identity that you have, I wrote about being a twin, super easy though - he said you could write about anything as important or as trivial as you wanted to). I would so highly recommend this class because all you want from an engagement is an easy A with little homework so that you don't have to treat it like it's a whole class/spend lots of time on doing work for a 2 credit half semester class.
Prof Seitz is literally the kindest professor I've ever had! He literally radiates positive energy and even brought his dog to class once :)) I think the name of his egmt was literally something like "engaging differences," so it didn't have a specific topic, but you read a few narratives from various people about their experiences of being "different." There's one discussion post a week but it's short, and then a final project where you write your own narrative about what makes you different. Not difficult at all and I liked being able to talk with my group first during class time before opening it up to one person in the class sharing their thoughts at a time. We watched a few Netflix/video clips as well, and I really do look back fondly upon this class. I wish Prof Seitz was still teaching English so I could take more of his classes, but he said he's gonna be teaching EGMTs for the next couple years.
