I found this engagement ("Global "Development": Great, Good, and Ugly") to be one of my favorites. There were a lot of readings but they were interesting and not too difficult to understand or too long. The class was structured where we would read before class and then discuss in class as small groups and as a whole. Be prepared to be called on as he cold calls if there is not enough participation. That being said, he will accept any answer as long as you are respectful and at least put in some thought behind your answer. Throughout the semester we had group presentations on what we had learned from the readings. Two of them just required one person to speak about your findings and then one was a slides presentation, none of which really took too much time to do. Prof. Safdar really cares about everyone learning and is very approachable. Near the end of the course he brought in two guest speakers which I really enjoyed. I would recommend this egmt to everyone but especially to those interested in Global Studies as he is a professor in that department. If you show interest there is potential for you to make connections that would benefit you later down the road. #tCFS24
