For an EGMT course, it was really stressful and overwhelming. The class itself is pretty easy, and I actually was very interested in the topic of Montessori education and children's learning. Professor Lillard, however, was often passive aggressive and a bit too uptight. She stressed deadlines and due dates, but was inconsistent with them at the same time. But, in another way, her strict methods helped me engage more in the class and put more effort into the assignments. The readings are all from the book she wrote herself, which had really long chapters, and often felt very biased and repetitive. I was able to trauma-bond with my table group a lot more, but either way, it was quite a headache for most of the half-semester.
This class is a decently easy A but Prof Lillard uses specifications grading so you definitely need to put in some extra effort to do all the assignments required to get an A. I found classes to be incredibly boring, especially since our homework was to read her book on Montessori education and then discuss it. Because we were discussing her book, it was very uncomfortable if you had any differing opinion than her. She would get very defensive easily which I understand, but I don't think it's good practice to exclusively teach from your own work. In the end, it's just an engagement and it'll do its job of boosting your GPA. It's probably not the easiest engagement to take but it's not too tricky either. #tCFS25
