Christa is honestly not that bad. Going into her engagement i hadn't looked up anything about the class so I went in with no judgement. I think people get really upset with her when they find out that they can't half-ass the work like usual in the other engagements. This kind-off made me a little annoyed too in the beginning because I was used to putting low-effort in my engagement classes. Getting an A in her class is very doable, she puts exactly what she is looking for in her syllabus. I did find that she wasn't really accommodating though, so just make decisions wisely. Reading is a must in her class because papers and discussions are from the readings. The readings themselves aren't that long but the papers do take some thought. Overall, I thought her class was fine, there was some funny moments and the topics we talked about were really interesting. There are pop-quizzes on the readings and your graded based on how thoughtful and how much you participate in class. I would say if you're looking for an easy engament where you don't have to do much then I wouldn't really recommend.
Professor Robbins receives more criticism than she deserves. Before taking her class, I had read several negative reviews and was bracing for a tough experience, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The workload is slightly heavier compared to other engagement courses, but earning an A is still very feasible. Pre-class readings are not only fair but essential for participating in class discussions. This class was the most engaging one I took all year. However, it may not be suitable for students who struggle with regular attendance or reading assignments before class. Professor Robbins is knowledgeable and much more approachable than depicted in other online posts. In conclusion, show interest in the subject and she will reward you, and hey you might even learn a couple things along the way.

A lot of people did not like this class and despised the professor. They say she is too mean, strict and rude. In my experience, her students give her the bare minimum and below, and she is frustrated with this. The content of the class itself is very interesting, and in-class discussion builds on the readings. The workload is pretty low, and all she really asks of you is to pay attention and participate and do the readings. Her grading is reasonable, although she does not provide much feedback. She does not take kindly to people blatantly not paying attention or using AI. Overall, I enjoyed her class. She is a bit of a stickler, but as long as you do the work and participate, you will get a good grade. The final is a short writing piece (500 words) and follows the same format as the rest of the assignments in class.
