Topic was poetry of love. Farooqi can be a little frustrating at times, but just try to help her move along and use her technology. Sometimes the workload can seem like too much for an engagement, but you can just skim and bs it tbh. She'll give you an A, just try to speak up a bit in class. She brought in Samosas on the last day.

You have to take engagements, and if you get stuck in this one, it's not the end of the world, like you'll get an A so don't worry

This was a weird class. If you are expecting to write love poems, you are way off. The class is all very religious and about "divine love". It has a huge focus on Indian culture and Sufism, a mystical form of Islam. The assignments have no guidelines and grades are very much based on how she "feels" about your writing. If you take this class I suggest your journals and responses are as artistic and flowery as possible. She'll eat it up. Otherwise you have no idea what grade she will give you no matter how well you answer her prompt. There was one time where she graded everyone's assignments on the projector during class. She gave someone a 105 and the next person an 85 with no true reason. Both responses were basically the same. There is not much homework, but she expects a lot of participation. The class is not super interesting and her grading can be harsh, but it is a fairly easy engagement. #tCFS24

Do not take this class unless you really love poem and have enough background knowledge.
This doesn't feel like what an engagement class should be like. Professor Farooqi expect too high of her students, who are all incoming first years taking engagements as a mandatory requirement.
While my other engagements are mostly labor based assignments, this class expect more than that. The bar is set a little bit high. There is completely no requirements and expectations for assignments given, and the professor grades the assignments based on her moods.
Do not recommend if you are just looking for an easy engagements.
