I went into this course with very interest in the romantic poets. I left inspired. Professor Stauffer is so insightful, intelligent, and interesting to listen to. He genuinely cares about his students, is a fair grader, and an all around chill dude. I was so in love with the material by the end of the course and its all due to him. 10/10
Stauffer is great--he is funny and engaging and really knows his stuff. He covers biographical and historical information in depth, which can sometimes be frustrating if you just want to analyze the text, but it helps on exams since he's obviously very interested in that kind of background info. The content was pretty redundant the class was called Wordworth, Byron, and Austen when I took it--and there comes a point when you've read so much Wordsworth that it all melts into one giant poem in your head about an old man frolicking through the woods. I would take this class for the professor, but not for the content. It got boring after a while.
