FREN 3559

This class was great, and I wish more courses at UVA could be structured like this one! Professor Blatt is great and will always answer students' questions about French, academia in the United States, the job market for professors, etc. I genuinely wish Professor Blatt could be my advisor. Each class, a different student would have prompt questions to talk about the book for the week. I will say though, you have to buy your books early and from different sources like the Albertine bookstore because UVA bookstore will not stock the books for this class, or they'll cost upwards of $70 (and they're novels). You will also have to skim every book to just get through the pages needed. The class environment is so nice though; I had a great set of friendly people in my class. I highly recommend this class if you need an extra credit in your courseload and want to brush up on your French!
