Took this class to see an intro to global
studies but it was just about the field of global studies and we didn’t really learn much about anything that actually happens in the world. We go over 6 different main topics and then the gist is like “climate change is a thing, here’s what some people have to say.” The readings are about 15 pages and easy. Then in class she just recaps the info from the readings. Every single time she’ll have a list of like 20 things to go over and she’ll get to the 7th one at best. So if you don’t finish the readings in time for class it’s ok. The Professor tries to be so intellectual but it’s really just a lot of talk about nothing. She opens the floor up for discussion every class but then it’s the same few people talking about whatever they want for like 30 minutes. Participation was about 25% of our grade but if you showed up and talked at least 3 times you were fine. Another thing is she claims to be so accepting but would literally make a disgusted face if she didn’t like what someone had to say or even slightly disagreed with them. She made it clear what her views were. The exams were so easy literally word for word from the lecture slides. She offers extra credit because she feels bad. The class was so easy but don’t recommend it was a waste of my time.
