Although not as exciting of a topic as the other core EVSC classes, Professor Reidenbach makes it as interesting as possible. The class is very physics/math heavy, but I did not find it too hard. Grades are composed of about six homework assignments (15% total), two midterm exams (25% each), and a final exam (35%). The homeworks can take a bit of time (the lowest one was dropped), but the example problems he does in class are quite helpful for them and also for the exams, which is why I recommend attending lecture. While sometimes boring, I found the most useful things in lecture to be the example problems he wrote out on the blackboard, which were not included in the lecture slides (which he did post online). The midterms and final are composed entirely of physics/math problems (algebra based, no calculus), but they are take-home which is very helpful. You can tell Professor Reidenbach cares a lot about what he teaches (and his coral reef research!) and is very flexible and helpful when I have gone to him with questions. Overall a pretty chill class with a passionate, helpful, and great professor, just be prepared for lots of math and attending lecture since it is the best way to do well. #tCFS24
