BIOL 3030

This is definitely a hard course!! However, if you put the work into it you can do pretty well. A lot of these reviews are very harsh. Professor Schafer does write difficult tests but she is a very nice person and very approachable.

We had 16 graded homework assignments, 2 grades discussion posts, 3 random graded assignments, 4 quizzes, and 3 exams. The final was not cumulative but it did cover 11 lectures.

Biochemistry is a hard class, and exams are very difficult. However, Dr. Schafer is a great professor and definitely does not deserve all the negative reviews that she has received. Study hard, read test questions carefully, and you'll do fine.

Schafer is retiring so this review isn't too helpful. She definitely did not deserve the hate she got on this forum. She is very nice and respects her students. The material is hard and she can write some really tough questions (sometimes with vague wording) but I honestly never thought those questions were impossible to do. This class did have the most busy work out of all my bio classes but it was easily one of the best classes for MCAT prep. I'm glad I took this class.
