I found this course to be super easy and felt that it was a review of many things I learned in IB bio. The pace was very tolerable and the professor added a decent amount of information to what was on the powerpoints during lecture. The assignments are also not challenging. One thing to keep in mind is that the professor is very strict about taking all the online quizzes in class and she tracks the IP addresses of those not in class as well as those who switch tabs while on canvas. These quizzes do need studying for.
I absolutely loved this course!! The material was very interesting, the quizzes were easy (attend lecture and study for ~2 hours and you'll be fine) and the structure of the course was well thought through. There were 6 short writing assignments, 4 longer reflections, 1 case study and 1 final project (instead of an exam), in addition to the 6 quizzes (lowest score gets dropped). It's a course that would be extremely difficult to get a poor grade in. I highly recommend taking this class with Kara. She is excellent!!

Prof. Anderson was great. Learning was almost exclusively through lectures, and the lectures were very well structured, including great videos to enhance learning. You easily get away with not attending lectures and learning on your own and do fine, especially if you've taken any biology course in the past. I went into this class with no bio experience and got an A+ by attending lectures and studying for an hour the morning of the quiz. The content really is very surface level, which is good for this introductory class. The quizzes were super easy multiple choice questions and all the written assignments were also super easy to write up in under 30 minutes. There was a group video project and a longer case study which were also very straightforward.
As a CS major, I took this class because I thought it would be good to learn about nutrition and I heard it was an easy A. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. Prof. Anderson is an excellent professor. #tCFfall2021
