Really good ENWR if you need one for requirements. Based around topics on food. The class is discussion based, and all you have to do is read a short article before class and discuss. There were only 3 papers. The first 2 were short and the last one was a 8-10 page research paper. Not bad. Plus Grace always made the class interesting and made sure she knew everyone and would help with anything you needed. Take this class!
Grace is awesome. We had readings almost daily but they were short, easy reads that were interesting most of the time (along with collab posts which were kinda annoying) All we did in class was discuss the readings and she would sometimes bring in food (!!!) which was really nice early in the morning. She's a pretty easy grader and is really willing to help you out if you need it. Ended up with a solid A in this class even with my first two essays being B/B+ range.
Grace is the actual best professor. She cares so much about wanting you to improve and lets you write just to write. It took a lot of the pressure off of being a good writer at all times. She really came through during quarantine and took a lot of the stress off of her students. She was willing to meet and help consistently and truly gives everything to her students. Im not sure if she is teaching next semester but if she is take this class with her!!

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with this course as my ENWR. This semester, the course revolved around topics of the Internet, more specifically how has the Internet impacted our society and expectations, how has it opened doors for us, but also how has it introduced negatives as well. Dr. Vasington was super accommodating and understanding, especially during online learning, and truly just wants to see you do well, as she understands that we are in the learning process for writing and therefore will not be overly critical of our work. Other than weekly readings that were pretty short (maybe like an hour at most), we only had 3 papers this semester (two 4-5 page papers, and an 8-page final research paper), and they were graded pretty fairly. I appreciated the open-endedness of the prompts; it was really nice to be able to write about really anything and experiment with different writing styles. 30% of your grade is participation; discussion-based class was also fun, and the workload was very manageable. I really appreciated the opportunity for extensions on papers, because that really helped me out when I had weeks that were just overloaded with work from my other classes; she was very happy to give extensions on papers if we needed them. Overall, I thought this class was a breath of fresh air, and Dr. Vasington was really one of the nicest teachers I've ever had :)
This class was pretty good. Dr. Vasington gave us a good variety of readings and allowed for a very open and candid discussion of what we thought. The topic was digital media, so it was all pretty relevant to our lives. There were three papers that we wrote throughout the semester: first a book report, then an essay, then a longer research paper. Dr. Vasington was pretty open and helpful on these papers, even when we went online for COVID. Overall, the class was pretty good.
