Sherif is amazing. He is super engaging, jokes around with you, and goes off on wierd tangents. The class material itself wasn't very interesting, and he had a different person each class lead the discussion, but he always found things for us to talk about, and the time went by quickly. The one thing I didn't like is that the articles we discussed in class were never used in the essays we wrote, but he grades pretty leniently. No matter what the subject is, his personality will make you draw you in immediately.
I had Sherif for his ENWR course regarding Freemasonry and that was a great experience in the classroom. The readings he offered were dense and took time, and we did not touch on actual grammar topics that often but his presence in the classroom and his knowledge and desire for further knowledge on the subjects he discusses are amazing. The class was a lot of fun and if you are looking for a fun ENWR, really something that will not bore you out of your mind, I highly recommend Sherif. Great man.
Sherif is a stud. My favorite class I took this semester. HIGHLY recommend it. He grades pretty leniently on everything, especially if you're on his good side. It's not hard to be on his good side, just do your work and be prepared for class. He hates phones and people falling asleep in class, which was a common theme throughout the semester, unfortunately. Just don't be one of those people and you'll do great in the class.
There are assigned readings for every class which vary in length. Sometimes its multiple articles or excerpts from books which take from 30 minutes to 1 hour to read. This was a fun and enjoyable class where discussion is held every class and facilitated by students. I recommend doing the readings so you can actively participate. He is also a reasonable essay grader.
Sherif is my favorite teacher I've ever had. His class was so fun and interesting. He picks out really interesting readings and then leads interesting discussions about them in class. He is such a funny teacher and keeps the class laughing. If you are a decent writer you can usually do well on the essays. You do have to do the readings, but if you don't do them once or twice it's not a big deal. HIGHLY recommend taking a class with Sherif.
