This course was super cool. It was specifications grading, so basically if you pass all the assignments you get an A (if you fail or choose not to do one, you get a B, etc. etc.). There were also three redos so if you do fail an assignment or need an extension, you can use those. So grading was very easy.
She also used open assignments, which basically meant that our assignments could take whatever form we wanted (video, PowerPoint, essay) and be about any relevant topic. There were three of these over the semester.
We also had to do vocabulary, a short presentation, and a reflection essay.
The weekly reading was usually interesting just because the topic is so interesting, although sometimes reading was a little long.
Instead of being in class for 2.5 hours, we got broken up into groups and only met for class for 25 minutes a week. We discussed the readings and our questions and stuff. Professor Howarter is very chill.
Overall, would recommend. Very interesting, pretty easy but also engaging. #tCF2020
