Do. Not. Take.This. Class. I'm sorry but this is one of the worst classes I've ever taken at UVA. I could never stay awake or focus on anything and he often went off on useless tangents and his expectations for slide ID of sentences from the novel were useless and indistinguishable from other books. He was INCREDIBLY insensitive on the topic of indigenous people and gives waaaay too much sympathy to the british for colonialism in an often offensive manner. This class was extremely difficult to sit through because of the lecture itself and then it was often rife with microaggressions and racist ideology. Take literally any other class.
