This class is a must for everyone who wants to attend graduate nursing programs in the future, and this course is ideal to fit that requirement. I highly recommend to take this course in late third year or fourth year so that you can maximize the time limit (give or take five years after taking the course) that grad schools accept. Otherwise, Dr. Byon and Dr. Hinton teach this course impeccably. They provide transcripts of each lecture (completely asynchronous and no recorded lectures, literally just the PowerPoints) that cover the basics of SPSS usage. The grade distribution is divided into: 20% midterm, 20% final, 60% for 4 individual projects. There are 3 quizzes for 3% extra credit, which really boosts your grade. The midterm and final are open book and are straightforward. However, the final was a little harder content-wise. For each exam, you have 2.5 hours for 25 questions, but most, if not all of it, is conceptual/analysis rather than actual mathematics. The projects are also straightforward, given that you basically just copy the example problems in the PowerPoint. There is a textbook, which you only really use for the appendixes. You don't need it for the actual content as it goes more in depth than what the class expects. If you need office hours, you just make an appointment with the professor, and they also offer midterm/final exam reviews should you have any last minute questions before the exams. They don't answer any questions once the exam opens (you have 7 days to take it). Overall, highly recommend this course. It's not mathematics-heavy as it is conceptual, and it's truly applicable for those who want to engage in research in the future as well.
