I have a lot of respect for Professor Feldman. Although a lot of students may find her a bit dry and boring, if you pay attention to what she says, it's really interesting stuff and well worth it. The readings are awesome and not too time consuming. Graded on 2 papers which you have loads of time to work on, a 3-hour take home final, an in class participation and reading quizzes which are really easy and scheduled on the syllabus so you know when they're coming. I really liked Feldman and the material, would really recommend it.
Class can be extremely confusing if you don't already have background knowledge of Nietzsche or philosophy. The class includes several novels so students should be prepared to devote a lot of time to reading. Professor Feldman mostly lectures with little input from the students. Two papers and a take home exam. #tcf2016
As others have said, this class is basically all lecture and no discussion. Lectures can be a little dry at times, but the selection of texts is interesting and the reading load is manageable. Make sure you read the syllabus so you know what you're getting into, as there are quite a lot of smaller assessments (two papers, four reading quizzes, a take home final, a graded presentation etc.) so you need to stay on top of the workload, but it's pretty manageable. :)
This was a great course that allows engagement with some of the most interesting ideas in philosophy and literature. There is a significant amount of reading, at times a novel a week. It is very difficult to stay on top of all of the readings. The writing assignments are more sparse, but are quite intense. There was one group project which wasn't too involved. Lectures are always interesting and help make sense of some of the more abstract or dense readings.
