Best teacher ever! Maanaki is laidback, lets you turn in HW late, and is generally understanding. Tests are fair, and if you study, come to class, and do the homework, you'll do well (I got an A-). He curves the exams, and there's a midterm, some quizzes on each lesson, as well as a final that's worth 30% of your grade. I would recommend taking this course if you have a background in Arabic (i.e you speak it at home or took it in high school), but even if you didn't, Bilal caters to all students and never makes you feel bad about not understanding something or asking questions. Tip: Go to office hours if you don't understand a concept in class. Class is every day, but it never feels like a chore. 10/10 would recommend!
Bilal is a great teacher in the Arabic department especially for the lower and intermediate levels. He understands the difficulty of the language and grades accordingly. If you come to class and do the homework daily it will really help as participation is 30% of your final grade. I've had 3 different Arabic teachers thus far and Bilal has been the best one yet.
Bilal is a great professor who is able to explain the various topics very clearly because of his fluency in English. Compared to others in the Arabic department, he's not a stickler if you are having trouble understanding certain topics. Not a very difficult course if you show you are putting in effort and doing the homework.
