This class was one of the hardest classes I have taken at UVA. I took this class wanting to learn more Korean, and to be honest, I came out being more confused than ever. This class was so hard that even the native speakers were struggling so much. This class is so fast paced, but the information is so disorganized and random that you have no idea what's going on. And I put a lot of the blame on the professor. She was very unprepared each day, and she would always run into problems because of her lack of preparation. Like she would ask us questions that she never taught us, and when no one would answer, she would get mad. She also gave us so much work to do. You had to do assignments every single day, and if you came to class not having finished, the professor would often be mean to you. And many times we didn't finish because they were either really hard or really long. You also had to do monthly projects and presentations so you had even more work. The quizzes weren't bad cause they were just memorization, but the midterms were super hard. The first one was so hard the professor had to make it easier than the second time cause so many people did bad. But the worst part was the final exam and project. These took so much of my time. The final exam was like 10 pages long, and you had to write in fluent korean, which took even longer. The project too was very hard. I'm not against this class, but if you are going to take it, don't take it with this professor.
