Paul is the coolest. I definitely recommend taking this course. New German Cinema is very interesting. If you participate once or twice per class, complete all the assignments (there are weekly reading comments, film viewings and commentaries), and put a decent amount of effort into papers, you'll do well. I will say though that having a good group for the group work is essential. You have to watch films with them , discuss, and do a quick write up on your thoughts. The more everyone brings to the table, the more you'll get out of the experience (and the less frustrated you'll be). Also, it starts to become fun to have movie night every week. However...groups are randomly assigned, so try to get lucky and get people you vibe with.
