2 take home tests and a final group project (paper + presentation.) Homeworks were difficult but Professor Miksad was willing to compromise and give us extensions on them. In general, not too bad of a course with lots of interesting material being covered.
The first few weeks were really challenging since it started off with the theory behind the models but if you go to office hours and try your best you'll be fine. Everything starts making sense after those first few weeks.
1) Miksad calls on people A LOT. You don't have to get the right answer, but put some effort in and he will like you. If you sit directly in his line of sight you get called on more.
2) There's quite a lot of homework but it doesn't get graded quickly.
3) If you've taken Fluids from him, you know to be very methodical in the way you write your answers to the homeworks and the tests.
4) There's a final paper/presentation; start early and make sure to include some calculations, that's what he wants to see. Check with him to make sure your principles are sound so he doesn't destroy you during the presentation. Though even if you do make an error, he gives you some time to adjust your paper.
