Taking Reproductive Justice with Dr. Leach was incredible! Highly recommend to all. Expectations were clear, discussions were engaging, readings supplemented lecture material and incorporated a variety of different medias, and Dr. Leach was a top notch lecturer. I really can't speak highly enough about the class.

I took Reproductive Justice in the Spring of 2021 for my own benefit, as I was highly interested in the material and thought I would enjoy learning about Reproductive Justice. After taking the course with Dr. Leach, it definitely enhanced my knowledge of the reproductive justice framework and gave important insight into the issues of race relations, reproductive history, welfare, healthcare, ageism, abortion, and technology in light of women's reproductive control and health. However, the readings and discussion posts assigned on a weekly basis were simply excessive. Everyone I spoke to could barely find the time to skim the 100+ pages of readings every week, and there was little incentive since we only had one midterm throughout the year. I was also upset by the fact that Dr. Leach separated the class 50/50 into discussion groups with one group speaking with her every week and the other group with the TA. I felt like the group in her section had an unfair advantage in digesting the material and learning what she expected us to regurgitate on exams and papers- it's impossible for the TA to provide similar guidance. The TA would also just put us into breakout rooms the entire discussion section and tell us to talk about the readings for 75 minutes straight. That's just ridiculous for college students on zoom. Again, I loved the material but the class could have been administered a lot better.
