What do I need to do to register for this site?

From our Sign up page, just provide us with your full name, email address, and desired password.

After you complete the registration form, we will send an email to the address you provided. Clicking on the confirmation link will complete the registration process.

Can I see the profiles of other people on theCourseForum?

theCourseForum was intentionally designed to allow you to remain anonymous. Other people can only see your major and your reviews. They will not be able to identify you by name or user name, and will not see your email address. This simple but important security measure promotes candor when people review courses and makes sure that your identity is not disclosed.

Does the University support theCourseForum?

theCourseForum operates independent of the University. In fact, theCourseForum exists primarily because liability concerns will not allow the University to create a forum where students can openly share their comments. We acknowledge the University's generosity in providing the grade distributions for theCourseForum's Grade Book.

Why can't I see any grade distributions?

We know you want to know grade distributions. They can be quite useful when deciding which courses you want to take. But reviewer comments are invaluable as well. That's why we require everyone to Write Reviews for at least two courses before you are granted access to the Grade Book.

Why aren't grade distributions available for every course?

Grades for the most recent semester may not be available in the Grade Book. As soon as these grades are provided to theCourseForum, we will update the Grade Book. Also, due to privacy concerns, grades cannot be provided for certain classes. These include courses with less than four students and courses where every student was awarded the same grade. In these cases, we have attempted to provide the average grade awarded.

What about inaccurate information or impolite review comments?

Play nice. theCourseForum is designed to give you constructive feedback that you can use to make informed course decisions and learn from professors you'll love. Mean-spirited or slanderous comments are not permitted. Contact us to report inappropriate posts.
