Professor Tite does a great job of interacting with students and wants to get the best out of them. He provides a unique perspective to the readings which can be a lot at times. The quizzes in the "tutorial" section are straightforward, and there are 5 online reflections. For these, just engage with the material and if you write whatever comes to mind that's all that matters. The final paper is also simple. The TA is very important however, and Alex Daley was fantastic.
This is a dense but fascinating course taught by a resoundingly knowledgable and passionate professor. A historical, non-theological view was held throughout the course as we examined the beginnings of Christianity. Lecture + discussion with a worksheet (called a "tutorial") based on the week's lecture content submitted before the discussion section. A weekly quiz would accompany the section as well. There were five online learning reflections that asked about your progress in the course that you would have to submit at different points in the semester. Professor Tite also held required, mid-semester check-in meetings with each student. The course culminated in a final academic poster group project about a chosen topic. Grading was done by the TA except for a couple of assignments. Attending lectures is essential as well as skimming through the chapter of the course textbook (can easily be found online). The course covers a lot of historical ground in just a semester so the professor shares a lot of content, but I did just find reading a thing or two here or there. A good class for someone just mildly interested in religious history or the Roman empire.
